The Bible presents the New Testament Church as a unified body made up of believers who follow the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles as contained in the Word. The Church of Christ in Nixa, Missouri believes that in that unity contained in the scriptures. With that belief, this church will continue to follow those teachings and not be led by the doctrines of men, which divide the religious world into many denominations. We will strive to follow the plan that the Apostles started in the first century and to conduct ourselves according to that plan. We believe that it is only through acceptance and obedience to God’s word that unity of believers can be achieved. Unity was the status of the Church in the first century. Unity should be the status of the Church today and that is what the members of the Church of Christ in Nixa seek. By taking the Bible as the one and only guide for our Christian lives, that unity can happen. We are an independent congregation of disciples of Jesus drawn together by a common faith. We are striving to imitate the worship and service of the Christians of New Testament times and to achieve the purity that is set forth in the scripture. For this reason we make every effort to "Speak where the Bible speaks, and to be silent where it is silent.” Our aim is to have a biblical basis for all Items of faith and practice. We believe that all Christians have access to God through Christ Jesus, without the need of any other human being or human organization. We also believe that in worship, every disciple should be offered the opportunity to participate in the mutual praise and edification in a dignified and orderly manner. The Church of Christ in Nixa is a Mutual Edification congregation.
